I. Цели урока:

развитие коммуникативных способностей школьников в условиях заданной речевой ситуации.

II. Основная часть урока.
Тhе topic of our lesson is "The political system of Great Britain". Today we are going to speak about the Royal Family.
Now we are going to watch presentation about the Royal family. (Учащиеся смотрят презентацию о королевской семье).

Elizabeth II was born on the 21 April 1926 in London as the first child of Prince Albert, Duke of York, and his wife Elizabeth.
Elisabeth and her younger sister Margaret were educated privately at home under the supervision of their mother and their governess. The lessons concentrated on history, language, literature and music.
Slide 3 – Royal Career
She became Queen after the death of her father, King George the VI and was coronated on 2 June 1953.
Now Queen Elisabeth is the constitutional monarch of Great Britain, the head of the Commonwealth of Nations with 53 member states
She is Supreme Governor of the Church of England and carries the title of Defender of the Faith
She is also the head of the British Armed Forces.
But today I would like to tell you not about the royal duties but about her family.
Slide 4 – Love Story
Elizabeth first met her future husband, Prince Philip in 1934 as they are third cousins through Queen Victoria. Their next meeting took place at the Royal Naval College in July 1939. After it Elizabeth who was then only 13 years old said she fell in love with Philip and they began to exchange letters.
Their engagement was officially announced on 9 July 1947. On the 20th of November the same year she married Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
Slide 5 – Prince Philip
Prince Philip was born on the 10th of  June 1921 in Greece into the Greek and Danish royal families. After being educated in France, England, Germany and Scotland, he joined the British Royal Navy. Then he started to exchange letters with the 13-year-old Princess Elizabeth
After the war, Philip was granted permission by George the VI to marry Elizabeth. After an official engagement of five months, Philip Mountbatten married Elizabeth on the 20th of November 1947. On his marriage, he was granted the title of Duke of Edinburgh, member of the House of Windsor. Queen Elizabeth calls Prince Philip her "constant strength and guide"
Slide 6 – Royal children
The Royal couple have four children: Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward. Their first two children Charles and Anne were born before Elisabeth became Queen (in 1948 and 1950 respectively) As a joke Prince Philip sometimes says that he is the only man in the country not allowed to give his name to his own children – as all of them are Windsors.

Now Queen Elisabeth and Prince Philip have eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and another one expected in July this year.

As there is no family in Britain without pets, the Royal family is not an exception: At present, The Queen owns four pet Corgis: Linnet, Monty, Willow and Holly and four Dorgis: Cider, Berry, Candy and Vulcan.
